LEGAZPI CITY — The Bicol Region police arrested 63 suspects and confiscated more than P2.9 million worth of illegal drugs in 10 days of operations this month.
Bicol police chief Brigadier General Andre Dizon said in a report Saturday, June 29, that the operations were part of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted from June 17-27.
A total of 433.71 grams of shabu, which is the slang for crystal meth; and 31.55 grams of marijuana were seized during the 52 separate operations. The confiscated illegal drugs were valued at P2,992,185.16.

Six firearms, four vehicles, and three gadgets were also seized from suspects, police noted.
“Legal actions, including the filing of cases, have been initiated against the offenders,” Dizon told the Inquirer in a phone interview on Saturday.

He emphasized that the police are closely monitoring to eliminate the proliferation of illegal drugs in Bicol.
“We will continue to conduct dialogues, distribute educational materials in the communities, and use social media to enhance public awareness and maintain peace and security in the region,” he added.
