MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with rain showers may be expected Saturday in the country’s eastern section because of the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In a weather forecast for June 29, the state weather agency said the easterlies would affect the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon in Luzon and Visayas; and Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen in Mindanao.
The easterlies are the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, Pagasa said localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa said people in affected areas of Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen should prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
It added that people in affected areas of Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Aurora, and Quezon, as well as Metro Manila and other areas affected by localized thunderstorms, to be wary of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Pagasa did not raise a gale warning over any seaboards of the country for June 29.
