Woman sustains minor injury after jumping onto LRT 1 tracks

A passenger sustained minor injury after jumping onto the tracks of Light Rail Transit Line 1 on Tuesday afternoon, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.

MANILA, Philippines – A passenger sustained minor injury after jumping onto the tracks of Light Rail Transit Line 1 on Tuesday afternoon, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said.

The incident happened at 12:41 p.m., when a female passenger jumped while a train was approaching the Doroteo Jose Station (southbound).

“The LRMC team was able to respond immediately to assess the passenger status. Per initial assessment, the passenger was conscious and sustained minor injury,” the LRMC said.

It added that the passenger was brought to the nearest hospital and turned over to the proper authorities.

LRT-1 operations were temporarily suspended at 12:42 p.m. and shortly resumed at 12:59 p.m.
