MANILA, Philippines —  The celebration of this year’s Pride Festival at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City was generally peaceful, according to the authorities.

In a report on Sunday, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said it had not monitored any security breach during the event, which was conducted on June 22.

“There were no major untoward incidents recorded,” QCPD said.

“This positive outcome is attributed to the intensified patrols conducted by QCPD personnel, agencies of the Quezon City Local Government Unit, and other agencies, including BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection) and MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority), to ensure public safety throughout the celebration,” it added.

Aside from the police presence, first aid stations and emergency response teams were also set up in nearby areas in case of emergency.

QCPD reported that thousands of individuals from various sectors of society attended the festival, which featured a food and art market, among others.

According to the QC government, the festival was conducted in partnership with advocacy group Pride PH.
