4 hurt in another accident in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — Four motorists were injured on Thursday, June 20, in another accident, this time involving three vehicles, along the Maharlika Highway in Atimonan town in Quezon province.

In a spot report, Quezon police said that at 1:50 p.m., a car driven by Lorenzo Lozañez Jr., 58, occupied the opposite lane and accidentally side swept the front bumper of the oncoming trailer truck driven by Ricardo Indo Jr., 35, in a curve section of the highway in Barangay Lumutan.

Due to the impact of the collision, the car turned around and consequently slammed into a motorcycle running behind and driven by John Patrick Dela Cruz.

Lozañez and his passenger, Gemeniano Maranan, 33; Dela Cruz and his back rider, Enrico Degorio, 33, all suffered injuries and were taken to a hospital in the locality for treatment.

The police said the concerned parties are open to an amicable settlement.

On Wednesday afternoon, a van driver died, and five of his passengers got injured when their vehicle collided with an oncoming truck also along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Tinandog in the same town.
