MANILA, Philippines — Former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves, who is accused of financing terrorism, has been arrested, the Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed.
Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 74 issued an arrest warrant on Teves for allegedly violating the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012.

“The terrorism financing charges involve both Henry Pryde and former Congressman Arnie Teves. There is sufficient evidence to show that certain assets or resources under their names are being utilized in the implementation of their terrorist activities…and therefore, they should be answerable for that,” Justice Undersecretary Jesse Andres said.
Teves is the younger brother of expelled congressman Arnolfo Teves.

Like the former lawmaker, Pryde was also designated as a terrorist by the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC) on July 26, 2023.
The court has set a P200,000 bail for the ex-governor’s temporary liberty.
