Lucena City drug bust: 2 suspects nabbed, P3.3-million ‘shabu’ seized
LUCENA CITY — Police seized more than P3.3 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from two alleged big-time drug traffickers in a buy-bust operation in this city.
Quezon police chief Colonel Ledon Monte reported Saturday that operatives from the provincial drug enforcement unit nabbed “Mohamad”, 48, and “Babylyn”, 25, at 5:43 p.m. on June 14 after selling shabu worth P10,000 to an operative in Barangay (village) Bocohan.
Police officers confiscated from the suspects a total of five sachets of meth weighing 165 grams with an estimated value of P1,122,000 based on information from the Dangerous Drugs Board and a digital weighing scale.

The seized shabu is worth P3,366,000 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, according to the police.

Article continues after this advertisementAuthorities are investigating the source of the drugs peddled by the suspects who are both residents of Malvar town in Batangas province.
The suspects were detained and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
