MANILA, Philippines — Wine for two?

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos was seen sipping from the wine glass of Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero during the Vin d’Honneur for Independence Day held in Malacañang last Wednesday.

The Palace hosted foreign dignitaries and national leaders, including the Senate President and House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Shortly before the traditional toast, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the first lady mingled with the guests.

While Marcos Jr. spoke with his cousin Romualdez, Araneta-Marcos took a sip from Escudero’s wine glass and promptly returned it to him.

Escudero appeared to laugh off the incident as a waiter offered Araneta-Marcos her wine glass.

During his toast, Marcos vowed to enhance relations with other countries.

“We shall endeavor to enhance engagements with bilateral, regional, multilateral partners, especially in areas where cooperation has not yet reached its full potential,” said Marcos.
