MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has approved the creation of 89 permanent staff positions in the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP).

The DBM said its approval stemmed from the request of NMP for the establishment of the plantilla positions nationwide, and that part of the request was for the reclassification and conversion of certain positions that engaged in lectures and prepared documents, as well as those involved in technical and general support.

“We believe that these organizational and staffing changes will significantly enhance the National Museum’s operations, allowing the agency to better serve the public and fulfill its mission to preserve and promote our cultural heritage,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said in a statement Tuesday.
