MANILA, Philippines—Parts of Metro Manila and 20 other areas in the country are expected to experience a “dangerous level” heat index on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said its station in Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay is seen to record a heat index of 42 degrees Celsius (°C).
However, its station in Science Garden in Quezon City is only forecast to have 41°C, just a degree below the “danger” threshold.
The heat index under the “danger” category ranges from 42°C to 51°C.
