Pagasa: LPA off Mindanao may dissipate; warm Tuesday expected
MANILA, Philippines—A low-pressure area (LPA) off Agusan del Norte is expected to dissipate but still trigger rain showers in the Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, the state weather bureau said.
As of 3:00 a.m., the LPA was last spotted 145 kilometers west-northwest of Butuan City, according to Rhea Torres, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist.
“Sa ngayon, mababa ang tiyansa na ito ay maging isang bagyo, at posible na malusaw o mag-dissipate ngayong araw,” Torres said in Pagasa’s early morning bulletin.
(There is a low chance of it becoming a tropical cyclone, possibly dissipating today.)
“Possible na magdala ito ng pag-ulan sa Kabisayaan at Mindanao,” she said.
(Rain is possible in the Visayas and Mindanao.)

Torres said Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecasting warm weather with possible isolated thunderstorms.
Article continues after this advertisement“Sa nalalabing bahagi ng ating bansa, mainit na panahon pa rin ang mararanansan lalong-lalo na sa tanghali, ngunit may tiyansa pa din ng mga isolated thunderstorms kadalasan sa hapon o sa gabi,” she said.
(For the rest of the country, warm weather is expected, particularly at noon. Isolated thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening.)
Pagasa added that no gale warning affects the country’s seaboards.
