Police's latest attempt to arrest Quiboloy in 3 of his properties fails

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur, Philippines — Police failed to arrest Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy in their third and latest attempt as troops almost simultaneously entered three of his properties in this city at 4 a.m. on Monday, June 10.

Maj. Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 11, said their troops from different units, including the Special Action Force and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, entered the pastor’s compound in Buhangin district here at 4 a.m. on Monday to serve the warrants of arrest for the qualified human trafficking cases filed against him and five others at a Pasig City court on top of the child abuse and sexual abuse cases that the pastor is facing here.

Aside from the KJC compound, which houses the Jose Maria College in Buhangin, the police also entered Quiboloy’s Glory Mountain and Prayer Mountain properties almost at the same time in Barabgat Tamayong here. But the pastor was not found in any of his properties.

At 8 a.m., Quiboloy’s supporters trooped to the gate of the KJC compound in Lanang, one of them carrying a megaphone, demanding justice for the pastor and causing traffic in the area.

Police entered and scoured the compound but failed to find Quiboloy inside.

Dela Rey, however, clarified that the operation was not a raid but a mere serving of an arrest warrant against the pastor.

“This latest actions of law enforcement officers underscores their commitment to uphold the rule of law,” she said.
