Pagasa: Rain expected in many parts of PH on Thursday

MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or “habagat” and localized thunderstorms will trigger rains in many parts of the country on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said that the “habagat” will particularly affect Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

“Mula ngayon hanggang Linggo next week, itong habagat ay magpapatuloy na maaapektuhan itong kanlurang bahagi ng ating bansa,” Aurelio also said.

(From now until Sunday next week, this southwest monsoon will continue to affect the western part of the country.)

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Pagasa added that it has not monitored any weather disturbance in and around the Philippine area of responsibility.
