PH to join peace summit for Ukraine in Switzerland – Zelensky
After meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Philippines will participate in the Swiss-organized global peace summit on the war in Ukraine later this month.
Zelensky said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that after a bilateral meeting with Marcos at Malacañang, part of the discussions was the Global Peace Summit and the importance of Southeast Asian countries’ participation there.
Alice Guo ordered suspended as mayor of Bamban, Tarlac
Alice Guo has been ordered suspended as mayor of Tarlac’s Bamban town by the Office of the Ombudsman.
In an order dated May 31, Ombudsman Samuel Martires said there are “sufficient grounds to preventively suspend” Guo and two other town officials “considering: that there is strong evidence showing their guilt.”
Mayor Alice Guo’s suspected mother, father left PH on May 20 – Gatchalian
Chinese woman Lin Wen Yi, who is suspected to be Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s mother, left the country in May and has yet to return, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian disclosed on Monday.
In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Gatchalian said his sources from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed the matter. Along with Lin is the local chief executive’s father — Jian Zhong Guo.
