MANILA, Philippines—Chinese woman Lin Wen Yi, who is presumed to be Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s mother, left the country in May and has yet to return, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian disclosed on Monday.

In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Gatchalian said his sources from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed the matter. Along with Lin is the local chief executive’s father, Jian Zhong Guo.

“Yes. They left last May 20 and [have] not returned yet, according to the BI,” said Gatchalian when asked if the two had, indeed, left the country.

INQUIRER.net has sought Gatchalian’s confirmation of ongoing efforts from his office to locate the whereabouts of Guo’s father and suspected mother, but he has yet to reply.

Earlier, the senator cited flight records that showed Lin traveling with Guo’s father at least 170 times in seven to eight years. The majority of their travels were in China.

“Karamihan ay sa China. Almost — mga nasa 70 percent ay China. Yung iba, iba-iba na. Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan – iba iba na. Madalas silang bumiyahe, to be honest about it, nakita ko sa flight records halos buwan-buwan bumabyahe sila,” Gatchalian said then.
