MANILA, Philippines — The provincial government of Pampanga has received P1 million worth of donations from Makati City to help the province recover from the damage caused by typhoons Egay and Falcon last year.
In a statement on Sunday, the Makati local government received a certificate of appreciation during the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Meeting held at Kingsborough International Convention Center in Guagua last week.

“We are glad to be of help to other local government units severely affected by natural disasters. We are also willing to share our expertise and other available resources to support their recovery efforts and enable them to make the lives of their constituents better,” Makati Mayor Abby Binay said.
Following this, Binay invited municipalities Sta. Rita, Porac, Floridablanca, Lubao, and Guagua “to come to Makati for benchmarking activities, underscoring the importance of sharing and learning from each other’s best practices and experiences.”
“The increasingly complex and serious challenges we face compel us, local leaders, to band together and fortify our collective strength to build a sustainable future for our people. As a certified resilience hub in Southeast Asia, Makati is ready to collaborate with fellow LGUs to share our tried-and-tested solutions and innovative strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation,” Binay said.
Earlier this year, Makati City extended financial aid worth P47.5 million to 75 disaster-stricken LGUs.
