Road closure to cause heavy traffic in parts of Alitagtag on Friday

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) office in Batangas warned motorists of “extreme heavy traffic” along Barangay Pinagkrusan and Barangay Sta. Cruz in Alitagtag, Batangas this coming Friday.

The agency said that the anticipated traffic will be due to a “temporary partial road closure” of the national road from the Barangay Pinagkrusan Intersection to the Barangay Sta. Cruz Intersection to make way for the Department of Tourism’s event called the “Tapusan Festival” on May 31, from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.

“All light vehicles are allowed to traverse, but expect extreme heavy traffic due to the influx of local tourists,” DPWH said in a Facebook post on Thursday.

The Tapusan Festival is a month-long celebration honoring the Holy Cross.
