LUCENA CITY — A motorcyclist and his back-rider died on Thursday, May 30, after their vehicle hit an electric post in Pililla town in Rizal province.
McJames Vidanes was driving his motorcycle with Gervie Buhay as his back-rider when they hit the electric post along the side of the Pililla-Jalajala road in Barangay Halayhayin around 1 a.m., the Region 4A police said in a report.
Both riders were thrown from their vehicle, landed on the pavement, and suffered serious injuries.
Both victims died while being taken to a hospital in neighboring Tanay town.
The report stated that the riders were not wearing crash helmets, which is required by the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
