LUCENA CITY — Two suspected big-time drug traffickers were arrested early Thursday, May 30, in a buy-bust operation in Cabuyao City, Laguna.

Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, commander of Region 4A police, reported that anti-narcotics operatives collared “Cristopher,”39, and “Bongbong,” 37, after they sold a pack of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay Mamatid around 4:45 a.m.

Seized from the suspects were seven plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 57 grams worth about P387,600 and drug-sniffing paraphernalia.

The police also confiscated two motorcycles believed to have been used by the suspects in their illegal drug business.

Authorities also seized one mobile phone from the arrested suspects during the operation. The phone will be examined if it has records of drug transactions.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The report said both suspects were on the drugs watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drugs trade.

Both suspects are under police custody and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
