Alice Guo’s mother could also be Chinese, says Gatchalian
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Wednesday said there’s a big possibility that embattled Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s mother is Chinese.
Speaking at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum, Gatchalian said it is highly likely that the “Amelia Leal” earlier introduced by Guo as her mother is just a figment of her imagination.
“There’s a big possibility na itong si Amelia Leal is a figment of their imagination. Walang ganitong tao. Yung kanyang mother is another person. Most likely, ang mother niya is also Chinese,” said Gatchalian.

(The corporators of her corporation included her siblings and her father and there was another person there, a woman named Lin Wenyi who I think is probably her real mother, I think so — this is a personal analysis because these are family corporations.)
Guo has been the subject of scrutiny after the Senate panel on women bared her alleged ties to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.
Apart from denying her supposed ties to these illegal firms, the mayor earlier disclosed that she grew up with her father on a hog-raising farm. According to her, she stayed hidden, being the love child of her father and his housekeeper.
Other “irregularities” in Guo’s citizenship were likewise questioned by senators, noting that the town mayor couldn’t even tell significant details of her upbringing.
