46°C heat index forecast in Pangasinan, Cagayan

Dagupan City, Pangasinan and Aparri, Cagayan are forecast to experience a heat index of 46°C on Thursday, May 22,2025, according to the state weather bureau. — Inquirer stock photo

MANILA, Philippines — A heat index of 46°C was forecast in Dagupan City, Pangasinan and Aparri, Cagayan for Thursday, May 22, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) latest bulletin.

This means that the heat index is in the “dangerous” category, which is between 42 and 51°C and may lead to heat cramps, heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Pagasa forecast that 26 more areas will experience a “dangerous” heat index on Thursday. These were the following:

Further, Pagasa said 45 areas were projected to experience an “extreme caution” heat index level, which is between 33 and 41°C.

This includes the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) in Pasay City (41°C) and the Science Garden in Quezon City (39°C).

The rest of the areas predicted to experience heat indices in the “extreme caution” category were:
