BARMM Grand Coalition bares 10-point agenda ahead of 2025 polls
MANILA, Philippines — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Grand Coalition bared its 10-point agenda ahead of the region’s first parliamentary elections in 2025, which includes its commitment to sustain peace initiatives and supporting conflict-affected communities across the region.
The BARMM Grand Coalition is a region-wide alliance of four major political parties: the Salaam party led by Sulu Governor Sakur Tan, the Al-Ittihad party led by Tesda Sec. Suharto Mangudadatu and Maguindanao del Sur Governor Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu; the Bangsamoro People’s party led by Basilan lone Rep. Mujiv Hataman; and the Serbisyong Inklusibo-Alyansang Progresibo party led by Lanao del Sur Gov. Bombit Adiong.
“More than anything else, we are ready to devote time and resources necessary to fully implement the signed peace agreements,” BARMM Grad Coalition Spokesperson and Member of Parliament Amir Mawallil said in a recent statement.
“With the Bangsamoro Organic Law as our legal pillar, these agreements form the framework with which we strive to build a strong regional government that can support and respond to the needs of our conflict-affected communities.”
He also stressed the normalization program as the coalition’s key component in its agenda, stating that it would empower communities to achieve their desired quality of life.
