MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 2:17 p.m. thunderstorm advisory, Pagasa mentioned that Metro Manila, Bulacan, Bataan, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas may have unfavorable weather conditions “within the next 2 hours.”

The state weather agency also said heavy to intense rain showers with lightning and strong winds are now experienced in Tarlac, specifically in the towns of Moncada, Paniqui, Camiling, San Manuel, Anao, Ramos, and Concepcion; Nueva Ecija, specifically in Nampicuan, Jaen, Zaragoza, and Licab; Pampanga, specifically in Magalang and Mabalacat), and Zambales, specifically in the municipalities of Iba and Palauig.

The weather in these areas may persist for two hours and even affect their surrounding towns, according to Pagasa.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” the advisory reads.
