Hontiveros takes witness stand

MANILA, Philippines—Former Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros was the first witness called at the resumption of the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona on Wednesday.
It was Corona’s defense team, who presented Hontiveros as a “hostile” witness.”
Hontiveros was among the complainants who filed a case against Corona before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the multi-million peso bank deposits that Corona had allegedly owned.
