MANILA, Philippines — Generally fair weather will prevail throughout the country on Thursday, with chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Meanwhile, the low-pressure area (LPA) currently being monitored by Pagasa was last located 1,080 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao, outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

“Sa araw na ito dahil malayo pa rin ang LPA at walang epekto sa ating bansa, magiging maganda at maaliwalas pa rin ang panahon ngayong araw sa Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao,” said Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.

(Today because the LPA is still a distance away and has no impact on our country, the weather will still be clear in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.)

“Kahit maganda o maaliwalas ang panahon asahan pa rin ang mga isolated na pagulan dahil sa thunderstorms sa bandang hapon o gabi,” he added.

The LPA is expected to enter PAR within Thursday and is forecast to approach the country, specifically Eastern Visayas and the eastern sections of Luzon.

It may develop into a storm and be named “Aghon.”

Pagasa said the temperature range in key cities and areas across the country for Thursday will be:

• Metro Manila: 27 to 35 degrees Celsius
• Baguio City: 18 to 25 degrees Celsius
• Laoag City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
• Tuguegarao: 26 to 35 degrees Celsius
• Legazpi City: 27 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Puerto Princesa City: 28 to 34 degrees Celsius
• Tagaytay: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Kalayaan Islands: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
• Iloilo City: 27 to 34 degrees Celsius
• Cebu: 28 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Tacloban City: 27 to 32 degrees Celsius
• Cagayan De Oro City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Zamboanga City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
• Davao City: 25 to 34 degrees Celsius
