LUCENA CITY — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region on Sunday and Monday seized P3.9 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and ecstasy tablets from three alleged drug traffickers in Laguna and Batangas provinces.
PDEA-Region 4A said in a belated report on Tuesday, May 21, that the agents held “Danilo,” 32, and “Alvin,” 27, in a buy-bust operation at 5:14 p.m. in an open parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay Tagapo in Santa Rosa City, Laguna.
The arrested suspects, both residents of Mandaluyong City, yielded 500 grams of shabu worth P3,400,000.
On Sunday, at 7:40 p.m., PDEA operatives arrested “Raihana,” 31, in a drug sting in an open parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay Marawoy in Lipa City, Batangas.

The suspect, a resident of Dinalupinan, Bataan, was caught with 299 ecstasy tablets worth P508,300.
The PDEA is investigating the source of the shabu and ecstasy tablets.
The three arrested suspects were classified as “high-value” targets in the government campaign against illegal drugs.
The suspects were detained and are facing cases of violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
