2 ‘high-value’ drug traffickers yield shabu, gun in Rizal, Cavite

LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics agents arrested two “high-value” drug traffickers and seized more than P854,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm in Rizal and Cavite provinces on Monday and Tuesday.

Members of the local drug enforcement unit in Teresa, Rizal held “Kenneth” at 9:44 p.m. on Monday, May 20, after he sold a pack of shabu to a poseur buyer in a transaction in Barangay San Gabriel, the Region 4A police said in a report on Tuesday.

The suspect, classified as a “high-value individual” or “HVI,” was found in alleged possession of five plastic sachets containing shabu weighing a total of 100 grams worth P680,000.

During the routine frisking, the police found the suspect carrying an undocumented caliber .38 revolver loaded with five bullets.

Meanwhile, drug enforcers in General Trias City, Cavite, arrested “Lea” in a buy-bust operation at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay San Francisco.

Authorities confiscated from Lea, also classified as an “HVI,” a knot-tied plastic containing shabu weighing 25.73 grams worth P174,964.

Both suspects are under police custody and will face a complaint of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Kenneth will be slapped with another case for possession of an illegal firearm.
