MANILA, Philippines — Six people were injured in a fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Makati City, early in the morning on Wednesday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

The blaze, located at Kakarong Street corner Yague Street, was reported at 2:44 a.m. and raised to first alarm six minutes later.

The BFP said the fire was declared under control at 3:12 a.m. before it was finally extinguished at 3:47 a.m.

Three individuals complained of smoke inhalation while another experienced difficulty breathing.

Meanwhile, one person sustained abrasions on the right ankle, while another one also had abrasions on the left elbow.

All six individuals received first aid from medical personnel on scene, said the BFP.
