LUCENA CITY — Police seized on Wednesday morning, May 15, more than P938,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from an alleged “high value” trafficker in Tayabas City in Quezon province.

Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, reported that members of the city drug enforcement unit arrested at 3:20 a.m. “Donato,” 55, after selling shabu worth P8,000 to a poseur buyer in Barangay Lakawan.

The anti-illegal drug operatives confiscated from the suspect four plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 46 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P312,800.

The seized meth is worth P938,400 in the street market at the prevailing price of P20,400 per gram, the report said.

Authorities are investigating the source of the drugs.

Police tagged Donato, a resident of the village, on the police drug watch list as an “HVI” or high-value individual in the local drug trade.
