MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and five other areas are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains on Monday evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In its 6:25 p.m. advisory, Pagasa said “moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds” will be experienced over Metro Manila, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal, Pampanga and Bataan.

The state weather service added this will persist for the next three hours.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said thunderstorms are also occurring in the following areas:
Cavite (General Emilio Aguinaldo, Magallanes, Maragondon, Indang, Naic, Trece Martires), Bulacan (Bulakan, Bocaue, Balagtas, Santa Maria)
Nueva Ecija (Licab, Quezon, Santo Domingo, Zaragoza, San Antonio, Jaen, Santa Rosa, Aliaga, Guimba)
Tarlac (Tarlac City, San Jose, Moncada, Paniqui, Santa Ignacia, Mayantoc, Gerona, La Paz, Victoria, Ramos, Pura)
Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, Iba, Cabangan, San Felipe, San Narciso, San Antonio)
Batangas (Nasugbu)
Pagasa added the rain showers may persist in these areas within two hours and affect nearby places.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards, which include flash floods and landslides,” it said.
