LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon (Calabarzon) seized more than P9.7 billion worth of illegal drugs during their month-long operation in April.
The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) public information office (PIO) said in a report on Saturday, May 4, that drug enforcers arrested 1,051 suspects during 809 anti-illegal drug operations across the region last month.
The operatives seized 1.427 tons of shabu (crystal meth) and 2,764 grams of marijuana with a total value of P9,705,944,460, according to the PIO report.
On top of the successful operations was the interception by police in Alitagtag, Batangas, of a van carrying 1.4 tons of shabu worth P9.68 billion on April 15.

The police are still investigating the syndicate behind the importation of the seized illegal drug.
The PIO also reported the arrest of 1,758 alleged illegal gamblers and the confiscation of a total of P521,438 in bet money.
The law enforcers also arrested at least 305 people for carrying illegal guns and confiscated around 460 assorted firearms.
The regional police also reported the arrest of 948 wanted felons across the region last month.,
