Luigi now reserve Lieutenant Colonel
Rep. Gabriel Luis R. Quisumbing of Cebu’s 6th district has been conferred the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the AFP Reserve Force at the Naval Reserve Command (Navrescom) Headquarters in Intramuros, Manila yesterday.
The donning of the rank was presided by Cmdr. Jesus C. Millan, Commander of the Naval Reserve Command, Capt. Noel De Vera, Deputy Commander, Navrescom, Col. Benjamin Espiritu, Commander, 7th Marine Brigade Reserve and Capt. Rodrigo Mejia, Acting Commander, NCR Naval Forces.
“I especially want to promote an active role for reservists in responding to calamities and disaster risk reduction,” Quisumbing said.
Quisumbing was also awarded a military merit medal for his leadership in providing assistance to the survivors of tropical storm Sendong in Cagayan De Oro City last year. Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza
