MMDA: Number coding rule suspended on Labor Day

MANILA, Philippines — The expanded number coding scheme on Wednesday, May 1, has been suspended in celebration of Labor Day, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

May 1 was declared as a regular holiday in the country.

“Suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng expanded number coding scheme sa Miyerkules, Mayo 1, Araw ng Paggawa o Labor Day,” the advisory read.

(The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Wednesday, May 1, Labor Day.)

“Saan man ang destinasyon, laging tandaan: planuhin ang biyahe, sumunod sa batas trapiko, at mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho,” it added.

(Wherever the destination may be, always remember to plan your journey, obey traffic laws, and drive safely.)

According to the Labor Department, employees in the private sector who will report to duty on this day are entitled to 200 percent of their basic salary.
