Dagupan City to reach heat index of 47°C on April 29 — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City in Pangasinan is expected to experience extreme heat and reach the highest index on Monday at 47 degrees Celsius (°C), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Based on Pagasa’s forecast, Aparri in Cagayan may hit the second-highest heat index at 46°C.

Besides the two, the state weather bureau said 34 other areas will likely reach a heat index of 42 to 51°C, which falls under the “danger” category. Pagasa said this level would likely cause heat cramps and exhaustion, while heat stroke is probable with continued heat or sun exposure.
According to the state weather service, five areas are expected to reach 45°C. These are:

- Bacnotan, La Union
This is followed by six areas that may hit 44°C:
- Sinait, Ilocos Norte

- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Aborlan, Palawan
- Dumangas, Iloilo

Pagasa advised the public to limit outdoor time amid the extreme heat to ensure public safety.
The agency also urged the public to drink plenty of water and avoid tea, coffee, soda, and liquor. It also advised to use umbrellas, wear hats and sleeved clothing outdoors, and schedule heavy-duty activities during the cooler periods of the day.
