MANILA, Philippines — Cavite 4th District Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr. died on Saturday, April 27, at the age of 74 in California in the United States for open-heart surgery.
“Throughout his life, Cong. Pidi dedicated himself to serving the people of the Province of Cavite and the City of Dasmariñas with unwavering commitment and passion,” his Facebook page said.
“As we mourn his loss, we find solace in the countless lives he touched and the enduring impact of his work. We humbly ask for your prayers and support during this difficult time.”

In October 2023, Barzaga, who was president of the National Unity Party, left for the US to undergo an open-heart surgery.
