MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said on Friday that it will launch several job fairs in the country as part of its celebration for the annual Labor Day on May 1.
The job fairs will be accompanied by Kadiwa markets and the awarding of payouts under its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD), Government Internship Program (GIP), and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) programs, according to DOLE Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez.

“Ngayong taon, 2024, dalawang pangunahing kaganapan ang inihanda ng Department of Labor and Employment, ang una pong kaganapan ay tulad po ng nakaraang taon. Ano po ito? Ang pagsasagawa ng job fairs at sasamahan din po ito ng pagsasagawa ng Kadiwa ng Pangulo, pagkakaroon po ng mga payout under TUPAD, GIT, and SPES, at ganoon na din po yung awarding ng livelihood,” Benavidez said.
(This 2024, two main programs have been prepared by the Department of Labor and Employment, the first is like what was during previous years, the launch of job fairs which will be accompanied by the Kadiwa market of the President, payouts under the TUPAD, GIT, and SPES programs, and the awarding of livelihoods.)
The DOLE will also launch the job fairs in the provinces to be more accessible and convenient to prospective workers.
“Kaya napagpasiyahan po ng aming kalihim ng Department of Labor and Employment na magsagawa po kami ngayong taon ng mga job fairs, mga Kadiwa ng Pangulo markets or sites, payouts, TUPAD payouts, or GIT awardees hindi po sa iisang lugar ng mga regional hubs or center, kundi po sa mga napakaraming lugar or site sa mga probinsya at mga munisipyo,” Benavidez added.
(The secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment has decided that we conduct the job fairs, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo markets or sites, payouts, TUPAD payouts, or GIT awardees not just in one place in the regional hubs or center, but in the many places or sites in the provinces and municipalities.)
