Chinese, pal yield P4.9M illegal drugs, gun in Angeles City

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Policemen arrested a Chinese man and his Filipino companion in a buy-bust operation that resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs worth P4.9 million and a handgun in nearby Angeles City on Wednesday, April 24.

In a statement, Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. identified the arrested suspects as alias Zhe, 30, a resident of Pasay City, and alias Lexie, 19, a resident of this city.

He said police operatives from drug enforcement and intelligence units conducted a buy-bust operation against the suspects in Malabanias village here at past noon.

Hidalgo said policemen confiscated from the duo two kilos of blue ecstasy party drugs worth P4 million, 87 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth P591,600, orange chewable party drugs, ketamine salt and crystal, and a liquid marijuana vape. He said a caliber .22 revolver loaded with live bullets and a silencer were also allegedly seized from the suspects.

A separate statement from the Angeles City government said that the buy-bust operation was conducted at the parking lot of a popular hotel in Malabanias village.

The suspects are facing charges of possession and sale of illegal substances in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
