MANILA, Philippines — Several local governments suspended in-person classes on Thursday, April 25, amid “dangerous” peak heat indexes.
According to the state weather bureau, high heat indexes exceeding 42 degrees Celsius may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke during continued exposure.

Below is a list of suspended face-to-face classes on Thursday:
Metro Manila
- Manila—all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
- Las Piñas City—all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
- Parañaque City—all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
- Caloocan City—preschool to senior high (both public and private)
- Pasig City—all levels (public only)
- Quezon City—all levels (public only)
- Pateros—all levels (both public and private)
- Muntinlupa City—preschool to Grade 12 (public only)
- Pasay City—all levels (both public and private)
- Mandaluyong City—preschool to senior high school until April 26 (both public and private)
- Malabon City—all levels until April 26 (public only)
- Navotas City—all levels (both public and private)
Calabarzon
- General Trias City, Cavite—all levels (both public and private)
- Cavite City, Cavite—all levels (both public and private)
- Carmona City, Cavite—all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
- Imus City, Cavite—all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
- Tanza, Cavite—preschool to senior
