Trillanes: ICC contacted 50 past, present PNP officials on Duterte case

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has talked to around 50 former and incumbent police officials regarding the crime against humanity complaints against former President Rodrigo Duterte, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said on Wednesday.

Trillanes in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) claims to have received “highly credible information” that ICC investigators have already talked to the Philippine National Police (PNP) officials accused of involvement in Duterte’s drug war.

Nationwide red, yellow alerts raised as power supply further thins

The power supply nationwide is running low prompting grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) to place all regions—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—under red or yellow alerts today, April 24.

In an advisory, NGCP issued a red alert in the Luzon grid between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. It will place the country’s largest island under yellow alert from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Former Senator Rene Saguisag dies

Former Sen. Rene Saguisag, a human rights lawyer, has died, his son, Rebo Saguisag, announced in a statement he posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

“We are grateful that, in his final months, he was able to spend time with relatives, friends and countless supporters. He passed away knowing he was much loved and respected,” the statement said.
