2 alleged NPA rebels surrender, yield weapons in Rizal
LUCENA CITY — Two alleged members of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered on Tuesday, April 16, with their firearms to the police in Rizal province.
The Region 4A police reported Wednesday that alias “Ka Ronan” and “Ka Ara” separately turned themselves in on Tuesday afternoon to police in Cardona and Tanay towns.

The report said the former communist guerrillas, who operated in the Sierra Madre mountain ranges in northern Quezon, surrendered a caliber .22 revolver, a rifle grenade, ammunition, and bomb-making materials.
The police and other government agencies are preparing to assist the former rebels in their reintegration protocols under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
