MANILA, Philippines — Heat index of the “danger category” may be experienced in 13 areas of the country on Monday, April 15, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Dagupan City in Pangasinan province was forecast to feel hot weather at 45 degrees Celsius, while Puerto Princesa City in Palawan province and Aparri in Cagayan may have it at 44 and 43 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Very warm conditions of 42 degrees Celsius, meanwhile, may be felt by dwellers of the following 10 areas:
- NAIA, Pasay City
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Clark Airport, Pampanga
- Aborlan, Palawan
- Virac, Catanduanes
- Masbate City, Masbate
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur
- Cotabato City, Maguindanao

Pagasa said a heat index of 42 to 51 degrees Celsius falls under the “danger” level and would likely cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
The state weather service officially announced the onset of the dry season on March 23, ushering in a warmer climate. A prevailing strong El Niño has contributed to the heat, triggering droughts in various provinces nationwide.
