Pagasa says more areas hit danger level heat index on April 14
MANILA, Philippines — The heat index in 15 areas across the country has reached the “danger” level on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 5 p.m. report, the state weather bureau said Dagupan City, Pangasinan recorded the highest temperature at 46 degrees Celsius (°C).
This is followed by two areas under 44°C: Aparri, Cagayan and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

Heat cramps, heat exhaustion
According to Pagasa, a heat index of 42°C to 51°C falls under the “danger” category and would likely cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion, while heat stroke is probable with continued heat or sun exposure.

- Iloilo City, Iloilo (42°C)
- Dumangas, Iloilo (42°C)
- Tacloban City, Leyte (42°C)
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur (42°C)
- Cotabato City, Maguindanao (42°C)
- Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Pili, Camarines Sur (43°C)
Meanwhile, the following locations are expected to experience a danger level heat index on Monday:
- NAIA, Pasay City (42°C)
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (42°C)
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan (45°C)
