City shootings

TWO shootings during the weekend in Cebu City left one person dead and another person wounded.

In barangay Ermita, an unidentified man was found dead with a gunshot wound in the body on Saturday night.

The man, who was in his 30s, wore a black under-shirt, a yellow polo, maong pants and green slippers. He was walking along the road at 10:30 p.m. when an unidentified assailant shot him dead with a .45 caliber pistol.

Police are still investigating the incident.

A few hours later in barangay Kamagayan, Leonilo Rodrigo was shot and wounded on the forehead by one of the youngsters, whom he argued with during a drinking spree at the Kuerks Restobar.

Rodrigo, a resident of barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, had a heated argument with youths who sat at the next table. One of the youths pulled out a gun and shot Rodrigo. /Reporter Rhea Ruth Rosell

MAN KILLED BY carcar COP

A CARCAR City policeman shot dead a 56-year-old man who allegedly resisted arrest and drew his gun to fire at the law enforcer in barangay Crasher Napo, Carcar City last Saturday.

Proceso Geralde was killed by a bullet in the forehead.

Police said Inspector Arvi Arbuis of the Carcar City police responded to a call from an informer about the presence of an armed man in the barangay.

Arbuis went to the area and said he found Geralde, tucking a .38 caliber pistol in his waist.

The policeman said he tried to arrest the armed man, and the Geralde resisted and instead pulled out the gun and tried to shoot him.
