OLONGAPO CITY — Residents in this city were cautioned once more against the impact of rising temperatures as the heat index in the city was forecast to reach near the “danger level.”
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the city was expected to experience a maximum heat index of 41 degrees Celsius on Friday, April 12.
The heat index measures the degree of uneasiness felt by an average person due to the temperature and humidity, Pagasa said.

It said it is already within the danger levels when the heat index rises to 42 ° C until 51° C.
The last week of March saw the heat index in this city peak at 41 °C or 42°C.
Due to the rising temperature, the city disaster risk reduction and management office called on residents to watch out for possible heat cramps and exhaustion resulting from prolonged exposure to the sun. INQ
