MANILA, Philippines — As the country observes Eid’l Fitr, Budget and Management Secretary Mina Pangandaman called for solidarity, forgiveness of past grievances, and unceasing efforts to broaden “goodwill” within communities.

Pangandaman is the country’s first Muslim budget secretary and the lone female member of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s economic team.

Eid’l Fitr is one of the most significant Islamic celebrations. It symbolizes the end of Ramadan, also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast.”

“As we mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, we are reminded of Allah being ever-present, ready to offer us guidance and support wherever and whenever we need it,” Pangandaman added.

Apart from calling for solidarity, Pangandaman reminded her fellow Filipino Muslims to  “thank the divine for all the beautiful things in our lives.”
