Shabu, marijuana worth P18.7-M seized in Calabarzon in March
LUCENA CITY — The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon (Calabarzon) seized more than P18.7 million worth of illegal drugs during their month-long operation in March.
Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, director of the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A), said in his report issued on Wednesday, April 3, that anti-narcotics agents arrested 795 suspected drug traffickers during their 1,006 anti-illegal drug operations across the Calabarzon region last month.
The operations yielded 2,716.43 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 2,224.84 grams of marijuana with a total value of P18,741,107.

Also arrested last month were 2,029 illegal gamblers and 868 wanted felons, some of whom were included in the region’s most wanted list.
Article continues after this advertisementThe police also nabbed 89 alleged illegal gun holders and confiscated 134 loose firearms during the period.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice stations across the region also facilitated the surrender of 25 alleged New People’s Army rebels last month.
The PRO 4A is preparing the necessary assistance to the former rebels in their reintegration protocols under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-Clip).
E-Clip offers free medical treatments, education, housing, and legal aid to rebels who will surrender.
Each rebel can receive cash aid and other benefits to help them and their families to start new lives.
