MANILA, Philippines — Senator Raffy Tulfo and Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the most preferred presidential candidates in 2028, based on a recent survey conducted by PulseAsia Research Inc.
Tulfo had a 35 percent preference share among the respondents, while Duterte had 34 percent, followed by former vice-president Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo with 11 percent.
The other five choices from highest to lowest were: Senator Ma. Imelda “Imee” Marcos at five percent; former senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao at three percent; Senator Robinhood Padilla at two percent; Senator Ana Theresa “Risa” Hontiveros at one percent; and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez at 0.5 percent.
Meanwhile, 0.2 percent of respondents picked former president Rodrigo Duterte as their choice for the 2028 presidency, while 0.1 percent opted for former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
Seven percent did not pick a candidate.
On the other hand, Senator Grace Poe topped the vice-presidential preference survey at 35 percent, followed by Sen. Marcos at 16 percent, Pacquiao at 14 percent, Padilla also at 14 percent, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at seven percent, Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. at four percent, and Romualdez at one percent.
Others mentioned as their choices for vice-president were as follows: Tulfo at 0.5 percent; Senator Bong Go at 0.3 percent; Hontiveros at 0.05 percent; former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan at 0.02 percent, Vice-President Sara Duterte at 0.01 percent; Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte at 0.004; and former president Rodrigo Duterte at 0.001.
