MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme’s implementation is back on Monday, April 1, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reminded motorists.

The Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program was suspended from March 27 to 29 as the nation observed Holy Week, the most sacred week in the Catholic Church’s liturgical year.

The MMDA noted that under the number coding, “vehicles are prohibited from traveling on the streets of Metro Manila based on the last digit of their license plates during the designated coding hours.”

“Plates ending in 1 and 2 are covered by the coding on Mondays, 3 and 4 on Tuesdays, 5 and 6 on Wednesdays, 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and 9 and on Fridays,” it explained.

But some parts of Metro Manila, including Makati City and some areas of Manila City, do not have window hours to implement the number coding rule.

  • Motorcycles
  • Garbage trucks
  • Marked government vehicles
  • Fuel trucks
