2,800 cops, enforcers for QC security this Holy Week

MANILA, Philippines – Over 2, 800 members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) and Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD) have been deployed to help ensure safety, security and order in the city this Holy Week.

QCPD said it is fielding  1,000 police officers, the DPOS will deploy 299 of its personnel while TTMD will tap 1,529 traffic enforcers.

“We are fully committed in ensuring a safe and enjoyable summer vacation for everyone in Quezon City. Our officers are dedicated in maintaining peace and order; hence, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and cooperative throughout this period and report through helpline 122 any suspicious activities or emergencies for us to respond promptly,” QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan said.

Meanwhile, the Traffic and Transport Management Department deployed 1,529 traffic enforcers to control traffic in roads in churches in the city.

QC Mayor Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte likewise wished for a peaceful and solemn observance of Holy Week.
“To our QCitizens, I pray for a peaceful and solemn observance of Semana Santa 2024. Have a blessed Holy Week and may God continue to guide us in this sacred journey,” Belmonte said.
