QC Mayor Belmonte vows zero tolerance policy on corruption
MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte said that the city will have a strict zero-tolerance policy on cases of corruption.
According to Belmonte in a statement posted by Quezon City on Tuesday, corruption, especially among city employees, should not be allowed.

“We won’t tolerate these few bad eggs. We will make sure that they are punished to the full extent of the law to prove that we are serious in eradicating corruption,” Belmonte said.
The mayor also told citizens who have experienced corruption to report through a dedicated reporting link on the Quezon City E-services site.
Article continues after this advertisement“Reports that are made through the QC E-services site will go straight to the top, and these will be handled with utmost confidentiality and urgency,” she added.
Article continues after this advertisementThe city likewise said that it will promote zero-contact processes in the QC E-Services portal for city requirements such as taxes, permits, certificates, and other documents.

Belmonte concluded that “uncompromising honesty, integrity, and fairness” are the only ways to fight corruption.
“If we want to continue in our path as pioneers, the only way to do so is to work with uncompromising honesty, integrity, and fairness,” she concluded.
